Dear Mr. President, You have failed us...

***DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT CLAIMING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT POLITICS THAN ANYONE, PURELY SPECULATING ON WHAT HAS AFFECTED ME. ***

Dear Mr. President,

You have failed us, you have failed your people, you have failed your country. We have been deceived and lied to and I would expect nothing less from the government. You, however, promised us change for the better, and provided us with change for the worst. You prided yourself on your honesty, you prided yourself on making a difference. Our government is shut down. Our inactive troops who have fought for our freedom and kept you and your loved ones safe - are without pay, because they are not considered "essential"... Funny they were essential when they were bombed and shot at- while protecting your freedom. Why don't you volunteer your pay, so they don't have to furlough. Why don't you and your very well off friends take the furlough and pay them- afterall, they risked their lives for yours. The healthcare system no longer benefits everyone, but only a select part of our population. Our prison systems recieve better healthcare than our elderly, our wise. Our country is no longer free and liberated- we are leaning towards a socialistic government. Everything I argued for, everything I wanted for our country - has been torn away. I am asked to pay for health insurance, while my hours at work are cut. I am expected to be patient to apply for the government health care on the website- because there is too much traffic. You had three years to fix this. You had three years to prepare. If I do not buy your health insurance I am not penalized with a "small fee"-- You take my entire refund check, because that small amount of money I made last year, was too much and 1% of that equals the entire refund, if not more. Your healthcare was supposed to be affordable, it's more expensive for me, and more costly- because now I not only have to pay more money for my for insurance, but my hours are being taken for me to pay for it. I do not know much about politics, but I do know this- I come from a family where cancer is common, and God save my soul if any of my loved ones are denied the option to save their lives- because of their age, because of money, because of your "better" health care system. Mr. President, I voted for you- and you have failed me, you failed your country, you have failed your people. I can only pray our country can come together and our government can make a stand and say "We are the citizens of the United States of America, this healthcare is not what's best for our country, we were wrong. We live in a country that prides itself on democracy, prides itself on freedom, prides itself on the right to chose and we have made a terrible mistake- and we need to fix this mistake. We need to make this right." Mr. President- you were wrong, and it's time you admit- you have made a terrible mistake.

Because I know I did.

A worried citizen of the United States of America.
